Documents and conversion content

Files opened in the document converters are processed inside your browser. The URL to Markdown tool is the exception: it sends the public URL to the ilovemd server, which retrieves the page HTML and returns it for conversion. The app does not intentionally save the retrieved page content.

Closing or refreshing the tab may remove unsaved work, so download anything you want to keep. Only retrieve public content that you are allowed to use.

If a document references a remote image, your browser may request it from its host. That host may receive ordinary network data, including your IP address and browser information, under its own privacy policy.

Technical data used to deliver and protect the site

Hosting, delivery, and security providers may process limited logs needed to serve and protect the site. A website retrieved with URL to Markdown may also receive a request from the ilovemd server. Logs can include an IP address, browser or server details, requested URL, date and time, referrer, and error or security events. They are retained only as long as needed for service delivery, security, troubleshooting, or legal requirements.

Browser storage and cookieless measurement

ilovemd may store a language preference, an Analytics opt-out, and a Markdown draft only when you turn on local draft saving. The site does not offer or set optional Analytics cookies. In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, ilovemd does not load the Google tag or send Google Analytics measurements. If the visitor's country cannot be resolved, measurement also stays off. In other recognized regions, Google Analytics 4 may receive limited cookieless measurements of page views and completed product actions while Analytics and advertising storage remain denied. These requests can include the page path, time, referrer, browser or device information, consent state, and ordinary network data such as an IP address. They do not include document text, file names, or converted content.

Purposes, disclosure, and retention

Technical data is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell document content or usage profiles. Limited information may be disclosed when required by law, when necessary to protect the service or its users, or as part of a business reorganization. Browser drafts remain on your device until you remove them. Google Analytics and hosting data follow the retention settings and policies of those services.

Your choices and rights

Where cookieless measurement is available, you can stop future Google Analytics measurements from the footer. You can also remove a saved draft, clear site data in your browser, use a content blocker, or stop using the site. The footer control stores only the local opt-out needed to remember that choice; it never enables Analytics cookies. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of personal information. Because ilovemd does not receive browser-processed document content, we cannot retrieve a document that stayed on your device.

International processing, security, and changes

Technical providers may process data in countries other than yours. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security. If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date on this page.
